on Deuteronomy 28:3-6
Six blessings fall in pairs, city and country, coming in and going out, with the fruit of body, land and livestock set between them. Each pair names two ends to take in all between, so the blessing covers all of life.

Children head the list, ahead of crops and herds. Henry ties the fruit of the womb to the promise that Abraham's seed would be many, and to Isaiah 61:9. There the nations acknowledge Israel's offspring as a people the LORD has blessed.
