★The Cost of Discipleship
Bonhoeffer addressed the German church just prior to WWll. He was a Lutheran pastor who was able to discern and articulate the faults of the church just before it capitulated to the Third Reich. It is astonishingly relevant today, especially in his first two chapters where he addresses cheap grace and the partnership of faith and obedience.
