Reading without an account

You can read every page on MannaFest without signing in. We do not ask who you are to open a Bible.

What an account stores

If you make an account, we keep your email address and the study work you create: reading progress, highlights, notes, reflections, and the connections you save. That material is yours. It is private to your account, it is not published, and no one else sees it.

What a person marks in Scripture, and what he writes under it, reveals his religious belief, so the law treats it as sensitive and so do we. We hold it for you to study with, for nothing else.

The Academy’s subscription

If you subscribe to the Academy, you pay on Stripe’s own checkout page, and your card number never reaches this site. Stripe holds your name, email address, card and billing history as the payment processor, under Stripe’s privacy policy.

This site keeps one record of your subscription: the plan, its status, the trial and renewal dates, whether you have cancelled, and the two Stripe reference numbers that join the record to your Stripe account. It also keeps a list of the billing events Stripe sends, by Stripe’s event number and type, with no name, email address or amount in it. We email you seven days before every charge and three days before a trial ends.

The subscription record is kept while your account exists. When your account is deleted, the record and its Stripe reference numbers are deleted with it. Stripe keeps its own record of your payments under its privacy policy.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. There are no advertising trackers on this site. Donations go through Venmo and Cash App directly: we never see or store your payment details.

What is kept on your device

The pages you open are kept in your browser’s storage on this device, so they open again without a connection. Pages that show your own work or progress are deleted from the device when a page is next opened signed out, and everything kept is replaced when the site is updated. Sign-in, your account export, the Manna room and requests for your saved work are never kept. The browser also notes how many visits it has made, so the card offering to add MannaFest to your phone never appears on a first visit, and whether you closed that card. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes all of it.

If you turn on the daily reminder in the Manna room, your browser gives us an address at its push service (Google’s, Apple’s or Mozilla’s) and two keys that lock the message. We keep them with the hour and time zone you chose, and use them only to send one notification on a day when Manna items are due, naming how many. Only your device can read the message. The address is deleted when you stop the reminder, when the push service reports it unused, or with your account. If you decline, we keep only that you declined, so the site never asks again.

Deleting your account

Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it, along with the study material attached to it. If you have a question about anything here, write to us and a person will answer.
