They shall come against thee one way - in the firmest and most united manner. And flee seven ways - shall be utterly broken, confounded, and finally routed.

on Deuteronomy 28:7-8
Enemies come out one way and flee seven ways, and verse 25 turns the same sentence around so that Israel goes out one way and flees seven. Seven in that idiom carries completeness rather than a count of roads. The blessing of verse 8 is commanded rather than simply given, and it lands on the storehouses and on all that thou settest thine hand unto, which is work already in hand.

As the Philistines, Moabites, Syrians, Edomites, and Ammonites were, especially in the times of David: they shall come out against thee one way: in a body, all together, in large numbers, marching in great order, to give them battle: and flee before thee seven ways; be entirely routed, and flee some one way, and some another, even every way they could take to make their escape.
Though temporal blessings do not take up so much room in the promises of the New Testament as they do in those of the Old, yet it is enough that our Lord Jesus has given us his word (and surely we may take his word) that if we seek first the kingdom of God, and the righteousness thereof, all other things shall be added to us, as far as Infinite Wisdom sees good; and who can desire them further?
