on 1 Kings 8:22-24
Solomon stands before the altar and “spread out his hands toward heaven”, and 2 Chronicles 6:13 adds he stood on a bronze platform and knelt. His first words, “there is no God like You”, confess before they ask. The phrase “keeping Your covenant of loving devotion” takes up Deuteronomy 7:9.

Adam Clarke ties the verse to 2 Samuel 7:13, where God said David's son would build the house. The finished temple stood before the crowd as the proof. Matthew Henry calls the performance the crown of the promise, and holds each fresh proof of God's word calls for larger praise.
