The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same

on Genesis 41:25-27

Joseph says that the two dreams are one, and that God has told Pharaoh what He is about to do. He says that to a pagan king's face. Clarke notes that Egypt credited the Nile with the abundance and the famine, and Joseph puts the river under God's hand.

Worthless translates reqot, meaning empty. Genesis 37:24 uses the same word for the pit, empty of water, into which the brothers threw Joseph. The empty years will bring those brothers to Egypt and to him.
