Biography

Solomon received David's kingdom and asked God for wisdom rather than wealth. God granted both. His wisdom drew the Queen of Sheba. He built the magnificent Temple in Jerusalem. His reign was Israel's golden age. However, he accumulated 700 wives and 300 concubines who turned his heart to other gods. He built high places for their idols. God told Solomon the kingdom would be torn from his son. His heavy taxation sowed seeds of rebellion. He authored Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.
