Deuteronomy 10:6-7 names these camps in the other order and puts Aaron's death at Moserah, where verse 38 puts it at Mount Hor. Keil and Delitzsch read Moserah as the district around Mount Hor.

Deuteronomy 10:7 names Gudgodah at the same point in its sequence, between Moserah and Jotbathah. Adam Clarke reads Hor-haggidgad as the hole or pit of Gidgad. He calls the site unknown and guesses the place was named for some large pit or cavern.
