Two of these camps carry their own stories. Kibroth-hattaavah has the graves of those who craved meat at Numbers 11:34, and Hazeroth has Miriam's seven days outside the camp at Numbers 12:14-15. After Hazeroth the list gives only names.

Rimmon-perez appears only in this verse and the next. Its site is unknown, and John Gill gives the name without comment. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown, noting how many stations lie between Hazeroth and Kadesh, take this stretch as part of a later march to Kadesh.
