Nine camps in nine verses carry nothing but names. They belong to the years under the sentence of chapter 14, which Deuteronomy 2:14 counts at thirty-eight. The record keeps the movements of a generation whose story the narrative had stopped telling.

Tahath appears as a camp only in this list, and its site is unknown. Origen reads the name as encouragement or endurance. He applies it to the one who would be of use to others and so must suffer many things, as was said of Paul.
