For Aaron and his sons they made tunics of fine linen
on Exodus 39:27-29
Aaron and his sons share the linen turban, headbands, undergarments and embroidered sash. The sons wear linen while the gold, the stones and the engraved plate belong to Aaron, so the chapter grades the priesthood by its cloth.

The sash is the one piece of these linen garments worked with blue, purple and scarlet yarn. John Calvin reads the splendour of the priestly dress as a picture set before the eyes of what faith was to see in Jesus Christ. The refrain closes the sons' garments.
