Chapter summary
Aaron and his sons consecrated. Moses brings them to the door of the tabernacle; washes them with water; clothes Aaron with the coat, girdle, robe, ephod, breastplate (with Urim and Thummim), and mitre with the holy crown; anoints the tabernacle, its furnishings, Aaron, and his sons. Then the bullock of the sin offering; the ram of the burnt offering; the ram of consecration — blood on the right ear, right thumb, right great toe of Aaron and each son. Seven days at the door of the tabernacle, day and night. ‘So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.’ The seven-day pattern foreshadows all later high-priestly pattern.
