But by his own blood - Here the redemption of man is attributed to the blood of Christ; and this blood is stated to be shed in a sacrificial way, precisely as the blood of bulls, goats and calves was shed under the law. Once - Once for all, εφαπαξ, in opposition to the annual entering of the high priest into the holiest, with the blood of the annual victim.

on Hebrews 9:11-12

Christ comes as high priest of good things to come, entering by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, not of this building, language the letter uses elsewhere for heaven itself rather than any structure on earth. Verse 12 states the letter's once thread at one of its two summits: not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood he entered in once, ephapax, into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. The contrast with verses 6 and 7 is total, one entry against a yearly repetition, his own blood against an animal's, redemption obtained rather than covered again each year.
