on Deuteronomy 7:18-19

Remember is one of the book's two standing commands, and here it answers fear. What is to be remembered is an event, "what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt". The signs, wonders, mighty hand and outstretched arm are a fixed formula, found again at 4:34, 11:2-3 and 26:8, and the argument runs from Egypt to "all the peoples you now fear".
