Rebekah spake unto Jacob--She prized the blessing as invaluable; she knew that God intended it for the younger son [Ge 25:23]; and in her anxiety to secure its being conferred on the right object--on one who cared for religion--she acted in the sincerity of faith; but in crooked policy--with unenlightened zeal; on the false principle that the end would sanctify the means.

Rebekah was listening to what Isaac told his son Esau
on Genesis 27:5-7
Rebekah listens while Isaac sends Esau out, then gives the errand to Jacob. Isaac had said he would bless his son before he died, but in Rebekah's telling the blessing comes in the presence of the LORD. God's name is on the errand before the disguise is made.

Rebekah's report leaves out Isaac's words about the dish he loves, which tied the blessing to his taste for Esau's game at verse 4. What she keeps is the tasty dish and the blessing before death. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown say she prized the blessing beyond price.
