You shall therefore love the LORD your God
on Deuteronomy 11:1-3
Verse 2 divides the audience, for Moses speaks to the men who saw "the discipline of the LORD your God", not their children. The word rendered discipline carries teaching with correction, so what those men watched in Egypt was their schooling.

Verse 3 carries the list of what that generation saw back to Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his land. The plagues of Exodus 7 to 12 struck king and land. At 6:22 the father tells his son these signs were done before their eyes.
