on Jeremiah 29:15-16
The exiles had been saying, “The LORD has raised up for us prophets in Babylon,” and used the claim to set aside Jeremiah's harder counsel. The LORD answers by turning to those who stayed, “the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city.”
