Levi is absent from the roll. Joseph is divided into Ephraim at verse 8 and Manasseh here, which holds the number at twelve as the census did at Numbers 1:10.

Nahbi son of Vophsi
The ten died by plague at Numbers 14:37, so Numbers 34:16-29 names a new set of tribal leaders to divide the land. Caleb alone of this roll returns among them, for Judah at Numbers 34:19. Calvin says the infamy of the ten was never blotted out.
