Rezin and Pekah appear together here for the first time. Isaiah 7:1 names the same two kings again, marching on Jerusalem in the reign of Ahaz. Kings says plainly that the LORD began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.

Henry read Jotham's death at forty-one as a judgment on Judah. Jotham was buried with the kings in the City of David, and his father Azariah, a leper, lay near them in a field at 15:7.
