Now the LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke. I have succeeded my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised. I have built the house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Now the LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke

on 2 Chronicles 6:10-11

Solomon states the fulfillment plainly and reports a place made for the ark, “which contains the covenant of the LORD”. The covenant in the ark is the two tablets alone, the point the Kings exposition draws from 1 Kings 8:9. Chronicles carries the same claim without adding to it.
