on 2 Chronicles 6:1-3

Solomon declares, “The LORD has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud,” answering the cloud at the end of chapter 5. The king then turns and blesses the whole assembly of Israel as it stands, a blessing the Kings exposition sets beside Aaron's at Numbers 6:24-26.

Solomon calls the house a dwelling for God forever, and at verse 18 he asks whether God will truly dwell with man. Matthew Henry notes that God called His Son beloved and gave no building the title of His beloved place. The house is where God hears prayer.
