Zebulun outnumbers his elder brother Issachar by 3,000 men at Sinai. At Numbers 26:27 Zebulun stands at 60,500, a gain of 3,100, and Issachar has passed him. Judges 5:18 remembers Zebulun as a people who risked their lives.

proposed
Of the two half-tribes of Joseph, who is seen to be "a fruitful bough" [Ge 49:22], that of Ephraim was the larger, as had been predicted. The relative increase of all, as in the two just mentioned, was owing to the special blessing of God, conformably to the prophetic declaration of the dying patriarch.
