This site's exposition

the descendants of Parosh, 2,172

on Ezra 2:3-35

Verses 3 to 35 name family after family. Adam Clarke notes the pattern: a person's name marks descendants, and a place name marks its former inhabitants. John Gill sets the list beside the parallel roll in Nehemiah 7 and finds the two agree in substance while differing in some numbers.

This site's exposition

and the descendants of Senaah, 3,630

Senaah's 3,630 is the largest count in the lay list of verses 3 to 35. Nehemiah 7:38 raises it to 3,930. The difference of 300 is second only to Azgad's in verse 12.
