5 notes on this verseThis was a great salvation, fit to be remembered upon all occasions, and particularly upon this; they need not grudge to bring a basket of first-fruits to God, for to him they owed it that they were not now bringing in the tale of bricks to their cruel task-masters.

Five terms name it, from mighty hand to wonders. Henry calls the seeing of verse 7 an act of pity and this bringing out of Egypt an act of power. Signs and wonders return at 34:11, where they name the work the LORD sent Moses to do in Egypt.
