The traditional death date of about AD 100 rests on the late Byzantine writer Photius, while Nikos Kokkinos (The Herodian Dynasty) argues from the coinage for AD 93/94 â€” a difference that also affects how late Josephus's works and Acts can be dated.

Counterpoint: The inscriptions confirm Bernice's royal rank and her partnership with Agrippa II, but "Berenice" was an extremely common name in the Herodian and Ptolemaic houses, so individual inscriptions have to be assigned by context and some assignments are argued over. They establish the woman and her standing, not the hearing scene of Acts 25.
