on 2 Chronicles 32:27-29
The list of treasuries, storehouses, stalls and pens is material Kings never gives, and Chronicles catalogs the wealth Hezekiah will show the envoys of Babylon. Verse 29 credits the increase: “for God gave him very great wealth”. The book applies the same teaching to every king who seeks the LORD.

Increased by the spoil of the Assyrian camp, and the presents sent him after that by neighbouring nations, 2Ch 32:21. and honour; both from his subjects, and the nations around him: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels: which were houses both for rich and curious things, and for armour, he showed to the ambassadors of Babylon; see Gill on Isa 39:2.
And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. The formidable design of Sennacherib against Hezekiah's kingdom, and the vigorous attempt he made upon it. This Sennacherib was now, as Nebuchadnezzar was afterwards, the terror and scourge and great oppressor of that part of the world.
