The LORD is the One who appointed Moses and Aaron
on 1 Samuel 12:6-8
Samuel moves from his own record to the nation’s. The pattern of crying to God and receiving a deliverer is the shape Judges narrates at length, compressed here into three verses. The word rendered "confront" is a term for formal legal argument, the courtroom sense of verses 3 to 5.

Samuel starts the nation's record with Jacob's family in Egypt. They cried out, and He sent them Moses and Aaron, the same order of cry and rescue that verses 10 and 11 repeat. Albert Barnes notes how often this book turns back to the Exodus, as at 4:8 and 6:6.
