Be strong and courageous, and do it
on 1 Chronicles 28:20-21
David closes with the charge Moses gave in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous”, and its promise, “He will neither fail you nor forsake you”. The LORD repeated that promise to Joshua at Joshua 1:5. Matthew Henry notes that Hebrews 13:5 applies the same promise to every believer.

But now the time draws night that he must die, and, as a type of the Son of David, the nearer he comes to his end the more busy he is, and does his work with all his might. He is now a little recovered from the indisposition mentioned 1 Kings i. 1 , when they covered him with clothes, and he got no heat: but was cure is there for old age?
