The prayer's ground shifts in one word. Where 2 Sam 7:21 has for the sake of Your word, Chronicles has “For the sake of Your servant”. Both grounds meet in the one greatness David says he cannot add to, “For You know Your servant”.

For the sake of Your servant
The promise has two grounds, the servant and God's heart. Where 2 Samuel 7 has the word's sake, this verse has the servant's sake. Matthew Henry reads the servant as Christ, for whose sake the promises are made and kept for all believers.
