The closing line changes mood, for 2 Sam 7:29 asks, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant. Chronicles states it as done: “So now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant”. What the king asked for he declares true.

The prayer closes on a statement of faith. Matthew Henry calls the closing line of 2 Samuel 7 a holy desire and this one a most holy faith. Adam Clarke gives the Targum, where God begins to bless the house of His servant, so it will be blessed forever.

Blessed forever - David's prayer concludes, as God's promise did, ver. 14, with that which is forever. God's word looks at things eternal. And so should our desires and hopes.
