The unbelief of the Jews in our Saviour's time is expressly said to be the fulfilling of this word, John xii. And it is applied likewise to the little success which the apostles' preaching met with among Jews and Gentiles, Rom. x. Of the many that hear the report of the gospel there are few, very few, that believe it.
