Esau, as we have seen Genesis 33, was thoroughly reconciled to his brother Jacob, and now they both join in fraternal and filial affection to do the last kind office to their amiable father.

on Genesis 35:27-29
Jacob reaches his father at Mamre near Hebron, where the cave Abraham bought stands. Genesis records nothing of the meeting, though the last words between these two were a stolen blessing and a brother's threat to kill. Isaac lives 180 years, and Esau and Jacob bury him together. Gill works out that Isaac was alive twelve years after Joseph was sold, so the death is reported here to close the account.

Feeble and blind though he was, he lived to a very advanced age; and it is a pleasing evidence of the permanent reconciliation between Esau and Jacob that they met at Mamre to perform the funeral rites of their common father.
