on Exodus 8:29-30

Moses names the pattern to the king's face before it repeats, having watched the same promise made at verse 8 and withdrawn at verse 15. He then goes out and prays for him anyway, which is what he did at verse 12. The chapter records no answer from Pharaoh to the charge.

Pharaoh does but say, Entreat for me (though it is with regret that he humbles so far), and Moses promises immediately, I will entreat the Lord for thee, that Pharaoh might see what the design of the plague was, not to bring him to ruin, but to bring him to repentance.
