on Exodus 8:3-4

The frogs are tracked from the water into the bedroom, the bed, the ovens and the kneading bowls. The reach of the plague is measured by the places where a household is private.

The warning ends by naming whom the frogs will reach: Pharaoh himself, his people and all his officials. The king is named first because the refusal is his. Albert Barnes, on the verse before, notes that frogs entering the houses would weigh heavily on the scrupulously clean Egyptians.

God's curse upon a man will pursue him wherever he goes, and lie heavily upon him whatever he does. There is no avoiding divine judgments when they invade with commission. Pharaoh not regarding the alarm, nor being at all inclined to yield to the summons, Aaron is ordered to draw out the forces, and with his outstretched arm and rod to give the signal of battle.
