They will pasture their flocks in the open fields and find rest in the valley of Achor, for my people who have sought me. He who above called the grape of the goblet, or the berry, or (as many wills) the cluster, now calls it the seed of Jacob and Judah, who possess the mountains or its mountain.

A cluster of grapes with a blessing in it pictures the remnant: “Do not destroy it, for it contains a blessing”. Descendants from Jacob receive the land: “the Valley of Achor a resting place for herds”. Achor means trouble, the valley of the judgment on Achan at Joshua 7:26.

Jamieson, Fausset & Brown link these descendants to the holy seed of 6:13. Barnes reads the mountains as Jerusalem and its hills, the land God claimed as His own dwelling. Clarke prefers the singular mountain, with the Septuagint and Syriac, and takes it as Mount Zion.
