So Isaac sent Jacob to Paddan-aram
on Genesis 28:5-7
Verse 5 names Rebekah as the mother of Jacob and Esau, the younger son first. Verse 7 says Jacob had obeyed his father and mother, said of the son who had deceived them both one chapter earlier. The road out of Canaan is his father's own command.

Jacob had obeyed his father and mother
Esau notices that Jacob obeyed both parents, yet in verse 8 he reckons only with his father's view. John Gill draws the contrast, saying Rebekah is left out because Esau cared nothing for her displeasure. The brothers part over the question of whom to marry.
