This is the account of Abraham's son Isaac
on Genesis 25:19-20
The toledot of Isaac is announced, and what follows is the story of his sons. Wesley noticed how little is told of the man except as it touches his father before him and his boys after him. Rebekah is introduced again by her family, daughter of Bethuel and sister of Laban. Laban is planted here long before Jacob needs somewhere to run.

Isaac marries at forty, and John Gill counted back to Sarah's death three years earlier, when Isaac was thirty-seven. Matthew Henry noted that the son the promised seed was to come through made no haste to marry. Esau also marries at forty, at 26:34.
