Ezra charges the priests and Levites in the same terms as the articles: "You are holy to the LORD, and these articles are holy." Men set apart carry things set apart, and one charge covers both: guard them until they are weighed out in the chambers of the house.

The priests and Levites here are the men set apart at verse 24. John Gill counts them as twelve priests and twelve Levites, and he takes Sherebiah and Hashabiah for Levites from verses 18 and 19. The two orders carried the treasure in equal numbers.
