Eleven lay houses follow, each with its own count, beginning with Eliehoenai of Pahath-Moab and 200 men. Pahath-Moab, Adin and Elam also stand in Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 7, where the numerals differ. The difference is traced to copyists or to two stages of one register, with no verdict given.

In Ezra 2 the line of Joab is counted inside the house of Pahath-moab, through Jeshua and Joab, at verse 6. Here Joab stands as a house apart from Pahath-moab of verse 4. Its 218 men make the second largest company in the roll.
