The chapter opens a second registry in the same form as Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 7. Three men are named without a count: Gershom of Phinehas, Daniel of Ithamar, and Hattush of the descendants of David. Zechariah of Parosh leads the first counted house with 150 men.

Hattush of the descendants of Shecaniah
Albert Barnes reads Hattush as the grandson of Shecaniah, which matches the Berean punctuation. The house of Parosh sends men a second time. Its first company numbered 2,172 in Ezra 2:3, and Barnes notes that most names in verses 2 to 14 recur from that register.
