As for the rest of the tribes
on Ezekiel 48:23-27
South of the prince's land, Benjamin, Simeon, Issachar, Zebulun and Gad take strips in the same straight bands as the northern tribes. The order departs from Jacob's blessing and from Joshua's allotment alike, arranged by distance from the sanctuary. Gad sets up the border the next verse describes.

Gad will have one portion
Gad had settled east of the Jordan with Reuben in Numbers 32:33. Its new strip lies west of the river, farthest south. Like Dan at the far north, Gad descends from one of Jacob's maidservants, while the sons of Leah and Rachel lie nearer the center.
