My tabernacle . . . with them--as foretold (Ge 9:27); Joh 1:14, "The Word . . . dwelt among us" (literally, "tabernacled"); first, in humiliation; hereafter, in manifested glory (Re 21:3).

The chapter ends in permanence stacked clause on clause: “My servant David will be their prince forever”, and the sanctuary “among them forever”. “My dwelling place will be with them” carries the vocabulary that John's Gospel and the Revelation take up for God dwelling among His people.

The word for dwelling place is mishkan, the term used for the wilderness tabernacle. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown trace the promise to John 1:14 and Revelation 21:3, where God dwells with His people. The covenant formula closes the verse.
