The enticer is now inside the house, down to “your closest friend”, the tie 1 Samuel 18:1 describes between Jonathan and David. Henry observes that the temptation is put secretly, so the case assumes concealment is possible.

Show him no pity is the command 7:16 gave concerning the peoples of Canaan. It returns at 19:13 and 19:21 for the murderer and the false witness. The kinsman who entices is placed with them.
