Hezekiah trusted in the LORD
on 2 Kings 18:5-6
Trust is the text's word for Hezekiah, and "No king of Judah was like him, either before him or after him". Chapter 23:25 says almost the same of Josiah. Verse 5 praises Hezekiah's trust under the Assyrian threat, and 23:25 praises Josiah's return to the book of the law.

Barnes names Solomon, Jehoshaphat, Joash and Amaziah as good kings who fell away, and he holds that Hezekiah stayed firm to the end. Gill, following the Targum, reads the commandments given to Moses as the moral, ceremonial and judicial law together. Barnes finds this cleaving language chiefly in Deuteronomy.

Other good kings, as Solomon, Jehoshaphat, Joash, and Amaziah, had fallen away in their later years. Hezekiah remained firm to the last. The phrase “cleaving to God” is frequent in Deuteronomy, but rare elsewhere.
