Judah crowns a king of sixteen and Chronicles calls him Uzziah throughout, where Kings prefers Azariah at 2 Ki 14:21. The parallel account at 2 Ki 15:1-7 gives this reign seven verses. Chronicles gives it twenty-three, adding the military buildup, the husbandry, and the full scene at the incense altar.

Fifty-two years is the second longest reign in Judah. Only Manasseh, at fifty-five years in 33:1, ruled longer. The count includes the years at verse 21 when Jotham governed for his father.
