on 2 Chronicles 26:4-5
Verse 4 repeats the verdict Kings gives at 2 Ki 15:3, and verse 5 is Chronicles' own addition. Uzziah “sought God throughout the days of Zechariah”, and “as long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success”. This is the clearest single statement of the book's seeking refrain.

Zechariah taught the king while he sought God. The Berean reads instructed him in the fear of God, the wording of the Septuagint and other old versions that Barnes cites. The Masoretic Hebrew speaks of the visions God gave, and the two Hebrew words differ by one letter.

He was well versed in prophecy, and conversed much with the upper world, was an intelligent, devout, good man; and, it seems, had great influence with Uzziah.
