Jerahmeel's branch runs in bare names, and the notice that a son died without children marks a line that goes no further. It ends in Sheshan, and Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, an Egyptian, and she bore Attai.

The note that Seled left no children marks a line that ended, and the list goes on through his brother Appaim. The same notice returns for Jether in verse 32. A family that died out is still recorded.
