4 notes on this verseAnd Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel. Who yet is not thought to be the same Bezaleel we read of in Exo 31:2 though the fathers and grandfathers of both have the same names, and were of the same tribe.

Caleb's line runs to Hur and then to Uri and Bezalel, the descent Exodus 31:2 gives for the craftsman the LORD filled with skill. So the tribe of the king also produced the builder of the tabernacle. The text then records a son born after his father's death.

Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, is the craftsman of the tabernacle in Exodus 31:2 to 5. Solomon later sought the LORD at the bronze altar Bezalel made, in 2 Chronicles 1:5. The builder belongs to Judah through Caleb and Hur.
