Jerahmeel's branch runs in bare names, and the notice that a son died without children marks a line that goes no further. It ends in Sheshan, and Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, an Egyptian, and she bore Attai.

Onam's two sons divide his descendants, Shammai's line in verses 28 to 31 and Jada's in verses 32 to 33. Shammai's line continues through Sheshan's daughter in verses 34 to 41. The list follows each branch to its end.
