Jerahmeel's branch runs in bare names, and the notice that a son died without children marks a line that goes no further. It ends in Sheshan, and Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, an Egyptian, and she bore Attai.

Azariah fathered Helez, who fathered Elasah, the eighth and ninth names from Attai. A Helez also stands among David's mighty men in 1 Chronicles 11:27. Nothing in the text joins the two.
